9/98 Hmmm... recieved some email from both Sufi's and Alex Ayuli's promotional machines. I lost Sufi's in a disk crash but Alex's e-mail says that he has a mini-album entitled "Soul Surging" released on 3rd Stone in 1999. A full-length is due later next in '99. More can be learned at http://www.3rdstone.com. Alex also "hosts a website" here.

Stephen, in the UK, has also filled us in on Sufi's second release. It's entitled 'Lovers and Trippers' and was released in summer, 1997. It consisted of three singles on the Secret Agent label along with a few new tracks. Stephen also mentions a new Sufi single entitled "For What It's Worth" released last June.

Both Rudy (of Sufi) and Alex now have web presences so I'm not much into collecting Sufi or Alex info in the discography or videography, preferring to stick only A.R.Kane work and collaborations from the A.R.Kane era. I'll certainly put links to their sites on the link page though.

11/97 Apparently there has been a few singles and a second album released by Sufi on Secret Agent, but I haven't any information on any of them. Anyone? Also, 4AD has recently deleted the A.R.Kane vinyl from their catalog.

6/96 Rudy resurfaces with sister Margaret on vocals as Sufi. Life's Rising, the first album is available from Virgin in the UK and through Caroline in the US and the second album is due this fall on Secret Agent. (Look's like more label hopping - can no label make a home for Alex?) Ambient version of one track from Life's Rising (extended and sans vocals) appears on the Virgin Compilation "Ambient 4:Isolationism."

4/96 No news is....no news. According to a recent interview with David Byrne (former Talking Head and figurehead of Luaka Bop-A.R.Kane's most recent label), A.R.Kane are no longer with Luaka Bop and have no album planned. Alex and Rudy apparently live on different continents, leading lives outside the music industry.

anyone have other news?!? e-mail me.
